Kiruba Haran, POETS Director and ECE faculty, has been elected to the National Academy of Engineering!  His election makes him the FOURTH POETS faculty to be an NAE academy member.

Prof. Philip Krein (ECE, UIUC) – 2016 - For contributions to power electronics technology and education.

Prof. Kenneth Goodson (ME, SU) – 2020 - For developments in microprocessor thermal management and nanoscale heat conduction.

Prof. Andrew Alleyne (MechSE, UIUC and now at MN) – 2023 - For contributions to modeling and control of dynamic thermal systems, with applications in aerospace, automotive systems, and buildings.

Prof. Kiruba Haran (ECE, UIUC) – 2024 - For high-power density electric and superconducting machinery technology and innovations in aircraft electric propulsion.
