From day one, POETS has laid a foundation of diversity and inclusivity into the development of every aspect of our organization in order to achieve our vision of pre-eminence in the power optimization of electro-thermal systems. POETS seeks to attract and support the best and most diverse talent from both the STEM workforce and the STEM pipeline.

Diverse research groups are recognized as having positive effects on innovation, creativity, problem-solving, and decision-making in multiple sectors, including STEM fields. We continually engage and recruit members from wide-ranging backgrounds and areas of expertise who will bring unique strengths and insights to sustain and enhance our workforce’s productivity and innovations.

We see every person who contributes to the POETS mission as a strategic partner integral to our growth and success. Therefore, we have created ongoing initiatives to ensure a climate of inclusivity and mutual respect for all our members to encourage and support their efforts.

Mission: To build and leverage a diverse and inclusive workforce and workplace by bringing together bright, innovative, and skilled members from academia, industry, and government and educating, training and supporting our diverse members.

This requires all members to do their part. Management must possess diversity and inclusion competencies to lead and manage an engaged workforce. Others must treat their colleagues with respect by listening to different viewpoints, opinions, thoughts and ideas and embracing a culture of inclusion.
